The Ottawa Valley Food Co-operative is a networking project for local food producers and consumers, whereby local consumers can connect with and buy from local food producers.

OVFC Coordinator Position

The Ottawa Valley Food Co-operative is seeking to fill the immediate opening of OVFC Coordinator. This is a part-time paid position with flexible hours up to 40 hours per month with potential for growth dependent on growth of the OVFC. Reporting to the Board, the Coordinator’s primary responsibility is the operation of the OVFC online monthly ordering system. This includes managing the monthly Saturday delivery day activities in Pembroke, organizing volunteers, providing producer support, member account management, customer service, and coordinating web site content. Other duties include assisting with special events, budgets, fundraising efforts, and member recruitment.

The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communications, and demonstrated computer abilities including Excel. You do not need to be an OVFC member to apply. However, all applicants must understand the OVFC mission and be familiar with the web site, www.ottawavalleyfood.org

The Ottawa Valley Food Co-operative, in collaboration with the Ottawa River Institute, has produced a wonderful 17 page booklet for Upper Ottawa Valley local food lovers! The free guide includes listings, locations, and contact details for Ottawa Valley Food Producer Members, Farmers' Markets, Pick-Your-Own Farms and Local Food Producers across the Upper Ottawa Valley. A valuable resource for finding and purchasing delicious and nutritious local foods!
