Johanna Zomers was born and raised on a small farm in the Ottawa valley. She studied journalism and film production, wrote features for the Ottawa Citizen, directed and produced two documentaries about the Algonquin Land Claim, and writes a weekly column for the Eganville Leader. She is a co-founder of Stone Fence Theatre and a frequent contributor to both the scripts and to the musical numbers. She is a graduate of the Humber School for Writers and a member of the Wilno Women Writers. When the Light Enters is her first published novel.
