Various hand crafted products. About Us Gentle Craft is a home-based business that was started in 2002 making and selling beeswax candles, salves and soap. It introduced heirloom seedlings to its production in 2006 and Chocolate Truffles in 2008. All truffles, salves and beeswax candles are made by hand by the owner/operator. Seedlings are started indoors and transferred to the greenhouse after transplant. The guiding values and principles are founded on the idea of providing non-toxic environmentally sustainable products that are made in small batches to maintain quality and craftsmanship. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients Beeswax is purchased from Ottawa Valley Honey and hemp seeds for truffles, etc. are from an Ontario producer. Heirloom and organic seeds are purchased from local seed producers such as the Cottage Gardener, Greta's, Ferme Bouillon, Eternal Seeds and also from seeds saved from my summer garden. Some seeds were purchased from Stellar Seeds in BC because of their superior quality and high germination success for plants more challenging to start. The chocolate is Callebaut dark, a world renowned Belgian chocolate, although not local it was chosen for it's superior quality and flavour. The chocolate is purchased from a local family run European Food importer. The medicinal herbs, flowers and roots chosen for the lip balms and salves are purchased from Mother Earth a green living small business in Ottawa that offers organic and environmentally responsible, preservative free natural health products, bulk foods and herbs, body care products and much more. Each formula is a basic mix of extra virgin olive oil and beeswax. The olive oil is also purchased from the local family run European Food importer. Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) Gentle Craft's standard and practice is to use the best locally available ingredients. If I cannot purchase locally, ingredients are purchased from small family owned businesses that understand and value the importance of natural products and environmentally sound practices.
